Books
To locate books at PJC and other Florida community college libraries, click on Find Books at the top of the LRC homepage. Enter keywords into the search box. For example: dreams psychology. Books can be requested from other campuses. For assistance, contact a librarian or see the instructions located at http://lrc.pjc.edu/pdf/find_books.pdf .  To find books at other libraries, click on Search Other Libraries on the left side of the LRC home page.

RESEARCHING THE TOPIC:

Articles
To access the following databases, click on the Find Articles link at the top of the LRC homepage. Login is automatic from the LRC computers. From remote computers, it is necessary to log in by: 1) selecting Pensacola Junior College from the drop down menu; 2) typing the 14-digit PJC photo ID number in the Borrower ID box; 3) typing the last 4 digits of your Social Security number into the PIN box. Before logging in, be sure to activate the barcode number on your ID card by contacting the LRC at 484-2002 or stopping by the Circulation Desk in the LRC lobby. Once logged in, click on the Alphabetical link at the top of the page. From the alphabetical list, click on the database of your choice.

Academic Search Premier
Multidisciplinary source of articles from magazines and scholarly (peer reviewed) journals. Includes abstracts (summaries) of most articles. To limit to full-text articles only, and or scholarly (peer-reviewed) journals, check the appropriate box(es).

PsychArticles
Provides full-text, peer-reviewed scholarly and scientific articles in psychology. Contains more than 100,000 articles from 59 journals - 48 published by the American Psychological Association (APA) and 11 from allied organizations.


PsychFirst via FirstSearch
PsycFIRST
contains citations and summaries, with very little full text, of journal articles, chapters, books, technical reports, and dissertations in psychology and related disciplines from the last three years of the PsychINFO database. Updated weekly.  Once logged in, click on Advanced Search. At Search for, enter the keywords and limit Document Type Phrase to Article. Limit Reviewed Journal Phrase to Peer-Reviewed Journal. Click Search. Select an item. To request a copy of an article via Interlibrary Loan, click on Borrow this item from another library. Some item records contain a link to Libraries worldwide that own item, which allows you to check if UWF owns the journal; otherwise, do a title search in UWF’s catalog by opening another browser window and going to the PJC LRC page. Select Search Other Libraries to search the UWF catalog.

Google Scholar
