To locate books at PJC and other Florida Community College libraries, click on Find Books at the top of the LRC homepage, or click Go at Search PJC Catalog. Click on Browse Lists and enter the person’s last name then first name; for example, walker alice. In the results list look for subheadings such as Biography, Interviews, Diaries, etc. Also check the titles listed under the person’s name only (with no subheadings).
African-American Writers
Encompasses the lives and works of 34 African-American authors. Each entry includes a personal and professional description, short criticisms of major works, and a “Selected Bibliography” of primary and secondary sources. Also included is a chronology and general subject index.

A comprehensive, full-text, biographical reference database covering a wide
variety of subjects. Users may search by name, birth date, nationality,
ethnicity, occupation, or other criteria. New and updated material is added at
least every three months, with more timely material added daily.
