Community Issues: Selected Resources

Scope: This guide incorporates a variety of resources that can be used to gain perspective on both national and local community issues. It begins with instructions on accessing library resources (books, magazine and newspaper article databases) and then lists selected national and local web sites.

RESEARCHING THE TOPIC: Books

To locate books at PJC and other Florida community college libraries, click on Find Books at the top of the LRC homepage. Keyword search options include author, title and subject. Advanced Search provides a guided method for combining keywords. Books can be requested from other campuses. For assistance, contact a librarian or see the instructions located at http://lrc.pjc.edu/pdf/find_books.pdfTo find books at other libraries, click on Search Other Libraries on the left side of the LRC homepage.

RESEARCHING THE TOPIC: Article Databases

Before logging in, be sure to activate the barcode number on your ID card by contacting the LRC at 484-2002 or by stopping by the Circulation Desk in the LRC lobby.
